VETERAN Buli Cama played a pivotal role in Nadogo's 1-0 upset win over Savusavu yesterday.

The 44-year-old, former Labasa and national team midfield general is playing dual coach/ player roles for Nadogo and led the young side by example.

Cama created Nadogo's winning goal with a clever through pass and showed glimpses of his deft world class touches that made him a household name in the 90s.

"It was the first game and we tried out a few combinations," he said.

"It's a good start for us."

He said most players in the team were young and lacked experience.

"The IDC is a good exposure for them.

"There is a lot to teach them but they're coping.

"The focus now is to win the next game against Tailevu North," he said.

The Navialoa native of Nadogo won two IDC titles with Labasa in 1992 and 1994.

Cama also helped the northerners claim three Fiji FACT titles in 1999, 1992 and 1997 when Labasa shared the trophy with Ba in Nausori.

He won the 1997 Battle of the Giants and 1991 National League with Labasa as well.

Nadogo was leading 1-0 when premier division games were temporarily suspended by Fiji FA because of the tsunami warning.

The remaining 15 minutes of the game was played when the tsunami warning was lifted after 90mniutes.

Nadogo last won the premier division IDC title in 1989.
