YOUNG Kevin Naiqama says he is desperate to play alongside his elder brother and Vodafone Fiji Bati star Wes Naiqama for the first time at the upcoming Pacific Cup in Papua New Guinea.
However, the challenge lies on the utility back to win a spot in the final Bati team.
Today, the 20-year-old will run at fullback for the Australian Fijians Rugby League side against the local Bati in the second Battle of the Bati match at the TFL National Stadium.
Kevin said it all depends on his performance this afternoon.
"I haven't played alongside my brother in any rugby league match and I am just looking forward to do my best and hopefully win a spot in the Bati team."
He scored a brace of tries on their first match against the local Bati at Ratu Cakobau Park on Wednesday.
The Koro lad from Lomaiviti said his goal is to be selected into the national team and he'll give his best shot to achieve the ultimatum.
"I hope to play another good game and take every opportunity to impress the selectors."
"It's going to be hard to be selected into the Bati team but I'll do my best so I could play alongside my brother."
"My brother is a huge motivator to me.
"I look up to him as a role model," the former Bati U19 rep added.
The Australian Fijians had the likes of Lepani Waqa, James Lagiloa, Ryan Millard, Darrell Jang and Puna Rasaubale to spearhead their campaign in the second match.
The game starts at 3pm.
