Schools celebrate library week

SEVEN schools took part in a march organised by the National Library Services yesterday.

Schools around the country are celebrating the annual event, which bears the theme: "Libraries, the fountain of knowledge".

National Library Services librarian Nazma Ali said the official launching was done on Friday night.

She said library week was observed every year in the country.

Ms Ali said the schools also took part in various competitions such has making book marks, drawing posters and writing essays.

"Library week has been celebrated in Fiji since 1979," she said, adding schools will organise book-based activities to celebrate the week.
