Ragata makes Futsal side

Saturday, June 27, 2009

YOUNG Labasa goalkeeper Emori Ragata has been called up into the Fiji team for the OFC Futsal Championship to be held at the Vodafone Arena from July 6-10.

Ragata replaces Suva stopper Azmat Begg, who is recovering from injury he suffered in the Vodafone Fiji FACT.

Team manager Jainendra Sukhu said Ragata was young and energetic and should not have a problem adapting. He will provide back-up for Navua's Simione Tamanisau.

Sukhu said preparations were on track and the team was a better side than last year. Solomon Islands enter as hot favourites.

Fiji: Emori Ragata, Mira Sahib, Sandeep Nair, Dinesh Mudaliar, Shivam Nathan, Mohammed Shalmeen, Joseph Mishra, Aisea Codro, Kamal Hassan, Uraia Loki, Osea Vakatalesau, Simione Tamanisau.
