TWO Vodafone Fiji staff members were the first to be named productivity champions by the Training and Productivity Authority of Fiji.
Webmaster Nirul Nihaar and technical officer Mosheen Khan won the awards for their projects.
Ms Nihaar's project was Live Chat and was in fact the first Vodafone company in the world to use it.
The project enabled an online customer support service and was implemented through the company's customer care department.
Vodafone Fiji's official website is now the most heavily visited non-news website in Fiji with 1.5million visits per month.
At least 94 per cent of these are locals.
Mr Khan developed a web-based application called My Zone, which is used internally by Vodafone staff members to live their Red, Rocksolid and Restless values.
The application has allowed staff members to get anonymous feedback from their colleagues on how they have performed and also recommendations for further improvement.
The awards was part of the launch of the Productivity Awareness Campaign held this week.
The theme for this year's launch is: "Partnering to Raise Productivity" and it's aim is to motivate all sections of the community towards continuous improvement of quality and productivity in the workplace.
Vodafone quality service officer Lusiana Nuqanuqa said PAC was borne out of the Productivity Charter that had traditionally been held to create awareness of productivity tools and productivity in general.
"The Productivity Charter of 2005 was borne out of the 2005 Round Table Conference which brought together representatives from the Government, Unions and Employers and led to the adoption of the charter which decided that the Productivity Movement, among other things, was to raise the standard of living for the people of Fiji," she said.
