ASILIKA Tinai. a survivor of Wednesday's tragic bus accident in Suva, is thankful she's alive to see her husband and three children again.
Mrs Tinai, 37, was a passenger in the Dee Cees bus that collided head-on with a Citiline bus.
She's recovering in her Kinoya home in Nasinu with head injuries and a swollen left arm and back.
"From what I can remember, both the buses were speeding and the accident just happened all of a sudden," she said.
"All I can remember was my head being hit by debris from the bus due to the impact of the crash.
"There was blood everywhere.
"I think the teacher who died must have died on his way to hospital or while still in the seat behind the driver."
Mrs Tinai said she was unconsciousness at the hospital and woke to hear the cries of the dead teacher's wife.
She was discharged from hospital at about 12.30am yesterday.
"The doctors told me to return to hospital if I feel any pain or experience other complications," she said, adding it was the first time she was involved in a road accident.
"I think I have not fully recovered because my family tells me that I cry and shout for help when I am asleep," she said.
