A group of elderly citizens were excited to visit the Fiji Museum yesterday, despite of the cold and wet conditions.
There were 10 residents of Father Law Home and five administration staff of the Home who spent about two hours sightseeing and looked thrilled to see the displays of culture and traditions in Fiji and from other countries.
The museum's marketing officer, Prakashni Sharma, said this was the second group of elderly people whom they have invited to come and enjoy an educational tour at the museum.
" This is something that we are doing to thank our elderly people and to show how we care for them," she said.
And yesterday the United States Embassy staff explained to the residents and staff of Father Law Home the pictures and art from the United States, which is now one of the new feature into the Museum's art gallery. 70-year-old Bill Sova, said he could not wait since they were told of the museum tour last week.
"I am loving it and I remember coming back here in the 1960's some of the art galleries that were on display then are still maintained here at the Museum," he said.
The elderly from Father Law Home were later treated to morning tea organised by the Fiji Museum.
