RETIREES with scarce skills will be among those eligible for re-employment, albeit on 12-month contracts.
A statement sent by Public Services Comission permanent secretary Parmesh Chand said these would include doctors, nurses, engineers, designers, hydrologists, scientists, researchers, veterinarians, quantity surveyors, land surveyors, draftsmen/ architects, engineers and designers.
"The identification of retirees for re-engagement will be done by respective permanent secretaries and heads of departments based on work performance and productivity," the statement read.
Selected retirees should have displayed high standards of work and should have no disciplinary record against them, he said.
He said the officer's performance would be based on their annual confidential reports for the past three years.
Mr Chand they would also be selected based on the relevant qualifications and experience.
"All applications for re-engagement will be handled by the Public Service Commission, in concurrence with the Prime Minister," Mr Prasad said.
"Against all re-engaged officers, permanent secretaries and HODs must identify a clear succession plan to ensure the continuity of service before the re-engaged retirees finally retire from the service."
