DO not take the filariasis tablets issued by the National Filariasis Unit until further notice, advises the Ministry of Health.
Responding to queries on why the two tablets _ Albendazole (ALB) and Diethylcarbamazine (DEC) _ were dated 2006 according to a medical information sheet inside the package,' ministry spokesman Iliesa Tora said it was news.
He raised the question with his permanent secretary Dr Salanieta Saketa, who has sought clarification from Mataika House.
"If that information is inside the packet, then I advise the public not to use it yet, until we receive clarification," said Mr Tora.
The nationwide campaign is co-ordinated from Mataika House in Tamavua.
