TEACHERS and committees of Lautoka Primary School came up with a unique concept for raising funds yesterday.
The group organised a serve-a-thon at the Lautoka Hospital to raise money for the upgrading of their school toilets.
"Some people sponsored us to do the work at the hospital," said school treasurer Shalesh Naidu.
The school also plans to buy computers, build a library and a staff room from the funds they raised.
"We had to give up the staff room to the children because of an increase in the school roll which now stands at more than 800 students," said Naidu.
The teachers and school staff will round off their fundraising for the year with a school carnival in December.
