THE directors of Fashion Week Ltd are pleased to announce that Robyn Storck has joined Fiji Fashion Week as their event manager.
Robyn will work closely with managing director Ellen Whippy-Knight, Christine Evans, Strategy and Designer Relations manager and Diana Goulding who oversees Public Relations and Communications.
Robyn’s new role is diverse and expansive as she will be heavily involved with the planning and seamless execution of the many facets of Fiji Fashion Week.
Her primary job responsibilities are to organise, pre-plan, and co-ordinate all the elements that are required for Fiji Fashion Week from dealing with suppliers to site management, including scheduling and production of shows, events and other special events, managing all of the elements on-site at the actual event and follow up with post event analysis reports.
Prior to joining Fiji Fashion Week, Robyn spent seven years with Munro Leys as the office manager and has more than 10 years local and international event management experience. Apart from being Fiji’s most high flying corporate legal beagles, Munro Leys annual Christmas parties have a reputation of its own as putting on the most exciting well run and well attended Christmas parties in Fiji. In fact it is well known that come November, would-be invitees begin to strategise for a difficult to get “sort after invite”!
Gauging by the excellent feedback she receives after each event, it is obvious the success of these parties and other events lie squarely up on the slender shoulders of Robyn Storck.
While planning begins six months prior the theme, catering, guest list and entertainment are put together in a month.
“I love organising events. I have very high standards and working for such a prestigious organisation means I have to produce results to enhance and maintain the profile of my employers.
“After seven years, I needed to expand my experience in new areas. I am excited to be part of the Fiji Fashion Week team and look forward to organising a successful event, it certainly has its challenges and for such a huge event precise planning is key,” said Ms Storck.
Fiji Fashion Week is the biggest fashion event in Fiji and the Pacific region.
“It is a gruelling task to ensure we continue to also be the most successful event of the fashion industry.
“Any event manager can help you co-ordinate, choose linens and organise catering. It takes the right manager that will get to know your business, understand your objectives and delivers an event that is to the highest standard.
“After a long wide search, I believe we have found the right person to ensure the continuing success of Fiji Fashion Week,” Ms Whippy-Knight said of Robyn’s appointment.
Robyn has an extensive network of “who’s who in Fiji” and an innate knowledge of the best suppliers in town. She is the daughter of Robin and Carol Storck who have just moved to New Zealand.
The Storck family were the original owners of the famous “Oolooloo Cruises” that used to run off the jetty along the Suva waterfront.
Robyn who is named after her father, started school at St Annes and went on to International Secondary School before finishing off at St Cuthberts College in Auckland.
After working in NZ and the UK for a number of years she returned home to Fiji in 2007.
