THE Fiji under-18 and U16 rugby teams received a spiritual boost last night as they were farewelled at a moving church service at the Nasinu Secondary School.

Family members and friends joined the teams in a spiritual moment before the upcoming international tours.

The Fiji U18 team will travel to New Zealand next week while the U16 will head to Australia.

Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Union president Setareki Merekula expressed his gratitude to the Fiji Rugby Union and parents for their never ending support and belief.

“I thank the parents for their trust in allowing the boys to stay together and leaving them in the FRU and FSSRU’s hands for four weeks and that is a lot of trust.”

He thanked the management of Nasinu Secondary School for accommodating the U18 team for the past month.

“It should be a great tour in Australia and New Zealand. Our relationship with our neighbouring countries is very strong at the moment and we thank them for opening doors of our young rugby players.”

The teams will present their itatau to Fijian President tomorrow.
