OPPOSITION MP Niko Nawaikula was yesterday ordered to withdraw an accusation that Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum was involved in the removal of a school principal.
Speaker Dr Jiko Luveni intervened while Mr Nawaikula was asking a supplementary question to Mr Sayed-Khaiyum, who is also the Education Minister.
Mr Nawaikula claimed Mr Sayed-Khaiyum had demanded the removal of the principal before Government released its education grant to the school.
“Why did you do it?” Mr Nawaikula asked. “You are too arrogant, you are too proud, you can’t listen to other things.”
Dr Luveni terminated Mr Nawaikula’s question.
She later ruled that the statement made by Mr Nawaikula was a personal attack and should be withdrawn.
