SOUTH Bay Davui, a rugby sevens support group based in California, USA, has started a GoFundMe Page to help raise funds in aid of the Fiji 7s Rugby Men and Women’s team.

The charity organisation hopes to raise $10,947.90. And within eight hours of setting up the account, the organisation had raised more than $700.

“(We’re) calling on all Fiji fans and members of our SBD global donor network to aid in our Fiji 7s preparations for the Rugby World Cup 2018,” the SBD stated.

“This fundraiser is for the purchase of new game-ready wraps and repairs for the Normatec Unit. Old wraps need to be replaced due to wear and tear from the 2017/2018 HSBC Series.”

SBD said the game-ready machines are in excellent conditions and thanked the team’s physiotherapist William Koong and the Fiji 7s players for taking good care of the machines.

“Additional funds be allocated for the purchase of travel humidiflyers to aid both teams during long haul flights to avoid jet lag and dehydration.”

The group said this investment from global fans would ensure the future breed of Fiji 7s players would continue to have access to the most innovative and effective recovery and injury prevention products.”

The World Rugby 7s will be held in San Francisco from July 20-22.
