A DEPUTY party leader for the Social Democratic Party (SODELPA) will soon be appointed.
The party today held a Special General Assembly (SGA) to adopt the amendment of its Constitution.
A new section 16.7 has been inserted into the party’s Constitution. The section enables the Management Board to appoint a deputy party leader for the party.
A new section 13.8.5 has also been inserted into their Constitution and this section empowers the management board to make temporary acting appointments if there is a vacancy in any position under SODELPA’s Constitution.
SODELPA leader Sitiveni Rabuka said the amendment would help to ensure a succession plan was in place.
