A TEAM from the Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) recently toured Kadavu encouraging people to participate in this year’s national election.

SODELPA leader Sitiveni Rabuka said the visitation to the island was mainly to create awareness on the importance of voting.

He said the visit to seven villages was focused on informing people that they needed to register with the Fijian Elections Office in order to be able to vote in this year’s election.

Asked if people raised issues with the touring party, Mr Rabuka replied in the negative.

“There wasn’t any issues raised because we didn’t ask because the campaign period has not started. It was purely a visit from us to the people of Kadavu,” the former prime minister said.

The team arrived in Suva last night.
