Smoke engulfs Lautoka city

LAUTOKA city has been engulfed with smoke from a fire at the Vunato Dump site since last Sunday.

Lautoka Ratepayers and Residents Association president Narayan Reddy said there were concerns for those with breathing ailments, especially asthmatics.

Lautoka City Council CEO Jone Nakauvadra said he was doing everything possible, with the support of the National Fire Authority, to control the fire.
