IT was an array of exhibition at the Ba Provincial Free Bird Institute last week as students showcased their creativity at the school’s open day.

According to the school principal, Meli Tora, three sections of the school’s departments took part.

This included the secondary students, the vocational and the Japanese students under their ESL or English as a Second Language program.

“The theme for the open day was ‘Skills and Innovation’ where we had students from various subject disciplines showcasing what they do in their programs. From industrial studies to music and so on,” said Mr Tora.

“It was an eye-opener. The talent displayed by these kids is amazing.

“The music students were playing instruments without even reading music sheets and then we had future chefs from the home economics department who displayed an array of lovely food.

“We had the open day aimed specifically for the primary school students and give them an option to the study programs on offer here,” he said.

About 640 students took part at the open day including 92 Japanese students from the ESL program.
