Six walk away from morning bus fire

SIX people escaped serious injuries yesterday morning when the Sunbeam Transport bus they were travelling in caught fire near
Olosara, Sigatoka. According to the National Fire Authority, station offi cers received the emergency call at 8.02am. However, upon arrival, firefighters found the bus was completely engulfed
in flames.
According to NFA, the bus registration JZ185 was a city to city express bus travelling from Suva to Lautoka. NFA confirmed the bus was insured and investigations into the cause of the blaze had begun.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Police Force revealed that the passengers, the driver and bus checker, were safe.
Police reported that the driver noticed smoke coming from the engine compartment and managed to safely evacuate all six passengers. Investigations continue.
