Singh wins Ba golf title

VETERAN Rajen Singh took out the Vinod Patel Ba Classic at the FSC Rarawai course on Sunday.

The former Ba Open champion was in fine form carding one over par 70 to win the overall gross title.

He also hit the longest drive. Shakti Singh won the A Grade nett with a score of 65. Ravin Padarath claimed the second spot after a countback from M Delana.

Both golfers scored 68 nett.

Charlie Bhaskaran won the B Grade nett with a score of 67 nett.

Rakesh Chand was second with 68 nett while the club’s treasurer Rajesh Prasad was third with 70 nett.

Salesh Kumar carded 67 to win the C Grade nett. Pravin Lal was second with 68 nett while Pradeep Chandra was third with 70 nett.

Mohammed Sharif won the nearest to the pin prize.

Prasad said the focus would shift to the T&M Custom Cabinets & Store Fixtures Ltd (Canada) monthly medal competition this Sunday.

“Rajen showed glimpses of his old touch and will be the front runner for the monthly medal title,” he said.

“The big Tiffany’s Western Open Championship will be held on August 2 where the prizes are being shipped from Canada by sponsor Mahend Gopal.”
