Show of strength

FIJI Airways Flying Fijians trio Vereniki Goneva, Henry Seniloli and local star Mosese Voka say the team is ready to deliver the task at hand to retain the 2018 Pacific Nations Cup which kicks off on Saturday in Suva. “Everyone is looking forward to the match,” Seniloli said.
“The position which I would play is very challenging as the scrum half’s role is to become the link between the forwards and the back line players in the match. “That link is very crucial so it is important for us to know our roles and it will be a teamwork.”
Newcastle Falcons utility and former Fiji 7s skipper Vereniki Goneva said the Test would be a test of strength between Fijians and Samoans.
“It is nice to see the Fijian supporters coming and meeting the team which is a good sign for us as they are all behind us in the Pacific Nations Cup,” Goneva said.
“The match against Samoa is not going to be an easy one for the Flying Fijians. “It will be a physical battle whenever we play Tonga or Samoa and to have the supporters backing, it is a big boost to the team.”
Voka, who plays for Navosa in the domestic rugby competition, said it was an honour to play alongside overseas-based players.
“It is always an honour and a great privilege to play for Fiji at home,” Voka said.
The Flying Fijians versus Manu Samoa match kicks off at 3.30pm at the ANZ Stadium in Suva on Saturday.
