HSBC Canada 7s Player of the Final Sevuloni Mocenacagi said support from their fans during the two-day tournament helped them win their first title in Vancouver.

Mocenacagi said while the team played well on both days, it was the continued support from their fans which helped lift their game especially during the knockout stages of competition.

“Yes, first of all I want to thank God for his blessing and without him we wouldn’t have managed this win,” Mocenacagi said.

“I also want to thank my teammates because they contributed to my being awarded this trophy.

“But I want to acknowledge the support from the Fiji fans who were supporting us during the two days of competition. They contributed a lot in our campaign to win this title in Vancouver.”

Mocenacagi also praised the leadership of skipper Jerry Tuwai, saying the nippy halfback led from the front with his hard work.

The long-striding Mocenacagi scored two tries in the final against Kenya.
