September judgement for former council staff on corruption charges

NAUSORI Resident Magistrate Vandhana Lal will deliver the judgement next month for a former acting Senior Rates Officer of the Nausori Town Council who is charged with 15 counts of causing a loss.

Iniana Tabuwaiwai is alleged to have dishonestly caused a loss to the Nausori Town Council by not taking steps to deposit the amount of $7253.45 received as rates payments in 32 separate occasions.

The alleged incident occurred between May 14, 2010, and November 11, 2010, in Nausori.

Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption had charged her in April 2013.

The judgement will be delivered on September 5.
