A MAN who allegedly injured his defacto partner with a cane knife at the weekend in Savusavu, Vanua Levu, has been charged by police.
The man has been charged with a count each of criminal intimidation and act with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said the incident happened at the Koro Sun Resort where the 35-year-old victim was working.
“When police approached the scene to attend to a report lodged at Savusavu hospital, they were threatened by the attacker who was still armed at the time,” Ms Naisoro said.
She said the victim was still admitted in hospital in a serious condition.
