FIJI’S Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem has classed Fiji Labour Party leader Mahendra Chaudhry’s allegations as “hogwash”.

Mr Saneem was responding to claims made by Mr Chaudhry earlier today saying that the 2014 General Elections were rigged.

Mr Chaudhry made the claims at a press conference in Suva where leaders of five other political parties were present.

Mr Chaudhry used FLP president Lavenia Padarath as one example of explaining why the 2014 elections were rigged.

“Mrs Padarath cast her vote at her polling station in 2014. She voted for herself. When the results came out, she did not get a single vote from that polling station. That is one very good example of how the 2014 elections were rigged,” Mr Chaudhry claimed.

In a press conference earlier this evening, Mr Saneem, in the presence of the Electoral Commission Chairman Suresh Chandra, stated that the claims are wrong.

Mr Saneem, through the FEO’s app, showed the media present that Mrs Padarath did get a vote at the polling station she voted at in 2014.

Mr Saneem has demanded Mr Chaudhry to provide evidence of his claim or give an apology to the people of Fiji.

Mr Chaudhry has been given time until midday tomorrow to get this done.
