IT will be a battle of the titans when Sabeto Roosters take on Ravoravo Rabbitohs in the Snax Nadi Rugby League Association Premier Cup final at the Airports Fiji Ltd ground in Namaka today.
Both teams hail from Sabeto Village making it a home affair. Interestingly the Roosters are the defending Vodafone Cup champion while the Rabbitohs will defend the Nadi premier league title.
The Nadi Rugby League Association has received a major boost from its sponsors for the finals which comprises of a total prize purse of $18,600 to be paid out to the teams.
Tournament manager Don Natabe said the winner would receive $2000 while the runner-up would get $1000.
Natabe said the premier cup fi nal would be interesting and would draw the whole of Sabeto Village.
“We are thankful to our major sponsor Snax and other cosponsors for supporting the competition,” he said.
Roosters captain Roger Qoro said his side was well prepared for the fi nal. “We have set out our game plan,” Qoro said.
“We will try our best to win the trophy.”
Rabbitohs captain Tikiko Noke said the match between the two teams was always fascinating.
“Every time the brothers meet on the fi eld big things are expected and we can expect a huge turnout,” the former Bati rep said.
The fi nals will begin with the under-16 match at 8am. The premier cup fi nal between the Roosters and Rabbitohs will kick-off at 3.30pm
