THE prestigious Webb Ellis Cup was welcomed by the Fiji Rugby Union at their headquarters in Suva this morning.
The cup visit to Fiji is the fourth stop on an 18-nation tour across established and developing rugby nations in the official build-up to Japan 2019.
Fiji Rugby Union chief executive officer John O’Connor said it was a big day for FRU.
“This is indeed an exciting day for us to welcome the Webb Ellis Cup as we launch the June Test Series, and the team sets their sights on Japan 2019,” O’Connor said.
The RWC will be held in Japan next year.
