KOROLOALOA rugby club from Motoriki is reviving rugby on the island.
Yesterday, the club is enjoying its participation at the Ovalau 7s tournament at Nasau Park.
Despite being invited to the two-day tournament as a replacement, Koroloaloa hopes to stamp its mark at the tournament.
“It’s after 10 or 12 years now since we last played as a club,” team coach Tawake Cama said.
“We’re reviving this club this year and we hope to be up there in the future, this is the beginning of bigger things to come.”
Cama said club competition had only started this year.
He said participating at the Ovalau 7s tournament was to expose the players.
“We received a last-minute invitation to compete at this tournament.
“But our aim is to expose these players. Most of them are farmers, we want to take this team to achieve greater things in the future.”
Former Fiji rep Filimoni Bolavucu is from Nasauvuki, Motoriki.
Bolavucu’s nephew Jemesa Vasi made a runaway try from a kick-off.
