FIJI swimming rep Rosemarie Rova is expecting tough competitions in this weekend’s Fiji National Schools Swimming Championship.

The Year 11 Swami Vivekananda College student won four individual and two relay gold medals at last year’s competition helping her team to win the overall girls title. Rova has been training hard for two months in her effort to repeat last year’s performance.

“Everyone train hard and may the best team wins,” said Rova.

“This is not only a competition, but an experience as well. Last year I got what the school needed, but I didn’t do any personal best, so I will try and improve this year.”

She will be taking part in the 200m freestyle, 400m freestyle, 100m freestyle, 100m backstroke and two relay events for her school.

SVC has been winning the girls’ title for four years in row.

“We will do our best and hope we can win.”

Rova has represented the country at the Pacific Games, Pacific Swim Games and the Junior World Championship.

She will be part of the 21-member SVC girls team.
