VODAFONE Fiji Bati captain Kevin Naiqama said there is room for improvement for the team after the side lost to Papua New Guinea 26-14 in the Pacific Test match in Australia last night.

“I am proud of the second half effort, however indicated there was room for improvement overall,” he said in a press release.

Fiji Bati interim coach Matthew Adamson also praised the performance of his players.

He praised the Bati for their second half effort in defence and highlighted the performances of debutantes King Vuniyayawa and Salesi Faingaa.

“Coach Adamson saw many positives despite the loss and stated he believed the team will continue to grow and develop towards Rugby League World Cup in 2021,” the release said.

The match was played at the Campbelltown Sports Stadium in New South Wales, Australia.
