THE United States Government in partnership with the Fiji Business Disaster Resilience Council and the Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation yesterday launched a disaster preparedness training for the business sector in the Western Division.

While opening the workshop, US Embassy second secretary and political officer James Bjorkman said the workshop was designed to help build resilience among small micro entrepreneurs who tend to be affected by major natural disasters.

He said the program was the first of a series of training on Disaster Ready Business Continuity for the participants who were from Rakiraki, Ba, Sigatoka, Tavua and Nadi.

The workshop continues today.
