Removing the curse of sin

Lest we forget: Good Friday, Jesus rest in the grave on Saturday and His resurrection on Sunday, is what makes the Christian movement or religion different from all other religions and faiths in the world.
In a nutshell, what makes Christianity different and bordering on the unbelievable is the solemn and mind-blowing truth that God the Creator loves humanity so much, that He was willing to send God the Son to become a human being like us, live a sinless life and die a sacrificial death to redeem fallen human beings.
Last Sunday, Christians celebrated Palm Sunday commemorating the beginning of Passion Week as Jesus fulfilled Bible prophecy, riding into Jerusalem on a colt or young donkey.
It is sad to realise that the same people who praised Him on Sunday, turned against Him and cried out “Crucify Him” on Friday before He was flogged and nailed to the cross.
All because the people thought He was their promised Messiah or Christ, who will lead them in a coup, returning power and authority from the Romans and back to the Jewish people.
Before Jesus died, He forgave all who played a part in His crucifixion and death and when He died, the veil in the temple was torn in two, meaning the end of the sacrificial system for forgiveness.
We may all have different plans for the long Easter weekend, but do not forget, that on a Friday over 2000 years ago, Jesus the Son of God paid the price with His own life to remove the curse of sin and death that hung over all human beings.
If you believe that you are a created being then you should also believe that only the Creator will provide the only way for the salvation of mankind.
I believe this is the only way and all we have to do is accept Him by faith as our Lord and Saviour like that thief on the cross, who was assured of eternal life that day. Two songs come to mind: “When He was on the cross, I was on His mind” and “There’s room at the cross for you”.
Have a blessed and saving Easter weekend.
