Relief packages

RESIDENTS of Ba still recovering from last month’s flood were recently handed relief packages from the Fiji Competition and Consumer Commission (FCCC) when they toured the Western Division.FCCC staff members were in the West carrying out inspections of local traders when they made a stop in Ba to distribute food and hygiene packs for those affected by Tropical Cyclone Josie and Severe TC Keni.

“The recent floods in the Western Division caused by TC Josie and Keni had damaged many homes and the personal properties of our fellow Fijian citizens,” a statement from the Commission said.

“Such trying times, if any, provide an opportunity to serve willingly and with humility to celebrate life.”

Votua Village headman Simione Navadra said the assistance provided by the Commission was much appreciated and would ease the burden on families still
struggling to recover.
