THE Suva Civic Centre has been redeveloped. And the new look has a touch of culture and art and features world-class audio-visual technology.

Officiating at the handing over of the newly renovated building, Minister for Local Government Parveen Kumar said the newly refurbished and improvised auditorium demonstrated and was a tribute to the friendship and partnership between the people of Fiji and China.

“I welcome all Fijians to come and see and enjoy this new benchmark in municipal facilities and amenities in Fiji,” he said.

Mr Kumar said the project was undertaken by Guangdong’s Nam Yue Group last year on April 28 and was completed last month.

“The Suva Civic Centre, since it has been built, has been the pride of the city and it has hosted an average of 650 events each year.”

The $20 million redevelopment includes upgrading of the building’s outlook, provision of new seats, sound system and improved gallery area.
