Rape trend worry up north

THE increasing number of rape cases in the Northern Division has been labelled as alarming by Police who have called on parents and guardians to be vigilant and alert.
Deputy divisional Police Commander Northern Assistant Superintendent of Police Kevueli Baledrokadroka told delegates of the Cakaudrove Provincial Council meeting that rape was more common in households nowadays.
ASP Baledrokadroka said daughters, mothers and grandmothers were being raped by their sons, fathers and grandfathers.
“I know this may sound hard for us to acknowledge, but it is the sad truth that happens in our homes,” he said.
