SUPER sub Sevuloni Rakula booted Wardens Gold into the final of the Pacific Energy Ovalau 7s tournament yesterday.
The nippy playmaker stepped up to slot the winning penalty at the final hooter when his side was leading Fiji Black 12-7 in the cup semi-final.
Wardens thumped Tauranga Rugby Club 27-0 in the quarter-final while Fiji Black edged past Yamacia 21-14.
Fiji Black had the services of veteran Nasoni Roko, Vatemo Ravouvou, Jasa Veremalua, Eremasi Radrodro, Jerry Tuwai, Manueli Laqai, Niko Verekauta and Jone Qoro.
Wardens was boosted with the presence of former national sevens rep Kelepi Namoua who entered the field with Rakula.
The Ovalau lad once again proved his worth coming off as an impact player to disrupt Fiji Black’s possessions.
In the other semi-final, Isake Katonibau and Hideaway Hurricanes playmaker Eminoni Nasilasila displayed fine skills against a determined Yasawa Stingers side.
Nasilasila started the match in place of the injured Emosi Mulevoro.
