RA Rugby union has welcomed the move by BLK Nadroga to host the HFC Bank Farebrother Sullivan Challenge game against Handy Finance Naitasiri Northen Bulls at the Ra Sports ground this afternoon.
Ra team manager Filimone Dranivesi said the historic rugby battle would be a huge learning curve to the Ra rugby players.
He said the people of Ra were honoured to host the first ever Farebrother game.
“We thank Nadroga for accepting our traditional request to host the Farebrother game at our ground,” said Dranivesi.
“Nadroga played a huge role in our B Division campaign this season by providing our rugby outfit.
“Nadroga also sent former national rep Iliesa Ratuva to assist our boys at training.
“The hosting of the Farebrother in Ra is to strengthen the traditional ties shared by the two provinces.”
Dranivesi urged the people of Ra to make use of this opportunity and to make an effort to watch the game.
He said the game could inspire young Ra players to become a better player in future.
“The game will be a huge learning curve for our boys as we reset out goal for next year’s B Division campaign.”
Ra faces Vatukoula in a friendly game as a curtain-raiser to the Farebrother game.
