Many people will be graduating with degrees, like I said before, I wish them all the best. What happens when someone cannot find employment for a few years? Here I mean for the field of work that degree is meant for. They will not have learnt anything new, if they didn’t keep abreast with things because they found a job elsewhere. Is there a use-by date for a degree, if a person hasn’t found the proper job for that degree?

I believe $5.50 for a licensing fee is indeed good news for small-time and weekend fishermen. Does it mean we have to forgo payment to qoliqoli owners to receive a licence for fishing?
I believe the pressure from unions to improve worker conditions as revealed to us by this newspaper (FT 25/03) will be hard in this period of high inflation and unemployment. It will be hard to argue for worker wage increases when unions are blamed for inflation, virtually held at ransom for it. We have to look at ‘the trade-off point’ where we can have both. Someone help!

I read in yesterday’s edition that amateur boxing is hoping to win gold from our two-member team. Certainly all the best because our last gold in boxing at the Commonwealth Games was won by Tongan Sani Fine in the light heavyweight division also in Brisbane in 1982.
