Qiliho: Indonesia a true friend of Fiji

POLICE Commissioner Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho opened the 4th Bilateral Working Group meeting between the Fiji and Indonesian Police Force in Nadi this morning.

He said Indonesia had been a true friend of Fiji for the past five decades.

Brig-Gen Qiliho said deepening relations had resulted in senior officers from Fiji undergoing training in Indonesia and continued discussion in the establishment of the Melanesian Spearhead Group Regional Police Academy in Fiji.

Discussions at the meeting focused on strengthening police cooperation under the Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions focusing on training, people to people exchanges, capacity building, transnational crimes, cyber and narcotics.

The six member Indonesian delegation is headed by Senior Superintendent Jimmy Agustinus Anes who is the Head of Sub Directorate Narcotic.
