MOTORISTS who frequent Queen Elizabeth Drive particularly the stretch between Muanikau Road and the ANZ Stadium must plan alternative routes for two weeks.
Repairs to the pavement on that piece of road will mean full closure to motorists, from Monday, April 23 to Monday May 7.
A statement from the Fiji Roads Authority confirms the road construction will affect “a section of Queen Elizabeth Drive from Muanikau Road to gate into Bidesi/Buckhurst Park.”
- The FRA advised that road users divert around the roads below:
- Laucala Bay Road/Ratu Sukuna Road/Muanikau Road/QED
- QED/Ratu Sukuna Road/Muanikau Road/Laucala Bay Road
- Vuya Road
“If progress is good with no delays due to weather impacts the FRA will open the road earlier. Works will include general drainage works, gravel pavement reconstruction, compaction and surfacing with chip seal finish,” the FRA said.
“Motorists are advised to follow the traffic management detour in place to ensure the safety of other motorists and workmen alike.”
