Update: 5:15PM HURDLES is a lonely sport and Eroll Qaqa knows only too well because he races alone.
The university student was on the tracks at the ANZ Stadium today preparing for tomorrow’s Athletics Fiji championships commonly known as the Easter Games.
Hoping to qualify for the Melanesian Games to be held in Vanuatu in May, Qaqa needs to clock between 15 seconds and 15.5seconds in the 110m hurdles tomorrow to make Team Fiji.
Qaqa said more competition would drive him to better his 15.2seconds personal best which won him silver at the 2017 mini games in Port Vila, Vanuatu.
The Fiji representative will race alone at 9am tomorrow at the start of the Easter Games.
