Primary school manager fronts court for alleged corruption

SAINT Mary’s Primary School manager Thomas Hewson was produced at the Labasa Magistrates Court this morning charged with one count of obtaining a financial advantage.

Mr Hewson appeared before Magistrate Cama Tuberi.

It is alleged that between January 2014 and 2015, the accused allegedly engaged in acts that resulted in the alleged acquisition of $45,48.90.

He was granted bail on strict conditions.

Magistrate Tuberi instructed Mr Hewson to surrender all his travel documents.

He was ordered not to reoffend and not to interfere with police witnesses during the duration of his bail period.

He was ordered to reappear in the Labasa Magistrates Court for mention on August 6.
