TWO of the three prisoners that escaped from the Nadi Police Station two weeks ago were arrested this morning at Namara Settlement in Tacirua.

Nacanieli Bakata and Ilaitia Vuivuda have been arrested and are now back in police custody after a team of officers from the Valelevu Police Station and the Southern Division Taskforce were sent to the settlement.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said the duo arrested and investigations will also look into whether they were assisted during their time on the run.

“The Fiji Police Force acknowledges the assistance and support shown with regards to the information provided which led to the arrest of the two escapees,” Ms Naisoro said.

Meanwhile the hunt for the third escapee Josaia Leone continues and members of the public are reminded that it is an offence to aid and harbour prisoners.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the three is requested to call Crime Stoppers on 919.
