POLICE have successfully retained the Escott Shield Challenge defeating Navy 27-24 in the final at Albert Park in Suva today.

Police trailed 17-10 at half-time.

Samuela Bainivalu scored two tries for Navy while Sorovakatini Tuifagalele also scored one for the lead.

Mosese Naiova and Samu Bola scored a try each for Police.

Police scored 17 unanswered points in the second spell to take the game out of reach.

Malakai Vereivalu scored a late consolation for Navy but it was not enough.

In other finals today, RKS Old Boys beat Nasinu 15-11 in the Koroturaga Challenge while Striders thumped Marist Seahawks 38-10 in the women’s final.
