MEMBERS of the Fiji Police Band presented certificates and provided entertainment for Momi villagers in Nadroga on Wednesday for their assistance in a robbery case.

In August this year, four men involved in an aggravated robbery incident in Tavua, Lautoka and Nadi had been on the run from police.

They had abandoned a vehicle near Momi in their bid to keep from getting caught.

“The four men had gone into the woods and we sought the help of the villagers,” said police spokesperson West, Wame Bautolu.

“They knew the area well and that same day we caught the four men.

“This is us showing our appreciation to the people of Momi.

“We had gone in asking for their help and they grouped up instantly and helped us in the search.

“For this, we are grateful,” he added.
