PM Bainimarama tours affected areas in Ba and Rakiraki

Update: 11:58AM A TEAM of government officials led by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama yesterday toured parts of Ba and Rakiraki that were affected by torrential rain and flooding caused by Tropical Cyclone Josie over the weekend.

Mr Bainimarama commended the affected communities for their resilience and bravery during this time of despair as many lost their homes and belongings, and some even their loved ones.

He reassured Fijians living in those affected areas that they would be able to access funds from the Fiji National Provident Fund.

Mr Bainimarama was accompanied by Minister for Local Government, Housing and Environment Parveen Kumar, Assistant Minister for Agriculture Viam Pillay and Divisional Commissioner Western Manasa Tagicakibau.
