THE outgoing Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Public Utilities Colonel Timoci Natuva yesterday requested staff members of his former ministry to render the same support they had given him for the past six years to the newly appointed Minister Colonel Pio Tikoduadua.
In a moving church service held at the Department of Works Mechanical Shop, Col. Natuva, who is now the Minister for Immigration, Defence and National Security, said the past six years had been a challenging and learning experience considering the fact that he was pretty new in the field.
“I have learned a lot being the minister as you know of my military background and we should all take our cue from what the Prime Minister had said that he is the Prime Minister for Fiji and for all Fijians,” Col. Natuva said. “We have to work together in order to deliver.”
Col. Natuva said with the government setting their target on increasing the country’s economy, it was only possible if all Fijians worked together in achieving greater heights.
“We need you to play your part, please offer your new minister the same support that you have been giving to me for the last six years,” he said.
Col. Tikoduadua said he looked forward to good times ahead and would visit the various departments of the ministry soon.
