OVER $7400 has been handed over to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation Fund by the Fijian Peacekeepers based in the Middle East.

The donation is to assist the Fijian families that have been affected by destruction that was caused by Tropical Cyclone Gita, Josie and Keni this year.

Director of Peace Support Operations Pacolo Luveni said after the peacekeepers heard of the plight of their fellow Fijians and they agreed to raise funds to assist the families who were still reeling their loss.

He added their fundraising target was $7000 which they exceeded.

“Fijian peacekeepers represent the best of our nation and wherever they go around the globe, their hearts are back home in Fiji,” said Mr Luveni.
