Partnership to boost local communities

THE Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay has partnered with global charity organisation “International Inner Wheel” to support local communities.

This week the resort will host Inner Wheel members from Germany to give back to kindergarten students of Namata Primary School.

Inner Wheel is an international organisation closely linked to Rotary that was founded in 1924 to unite wives and daughters of Rotarians.

The objectives of the organisation include promoting true friendship, encouraging the ideals of personal service and fostering international understanding.

According to the resort, the handover of furniture for the newly built kindergarten was made possible through the collaborative work between Inner Wheel and Katrin Dressino, the wife of Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay general manager Silvano Dressino.

Mrs Dressino has been heavily involved in corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects for the resort over the past year.

The resort’s CSR projects include donations of stationery and school supplies to Tau Primary School, Namata and Nawai schools, investing in the vitality of local children and promoting sustainable education, renovation and refurbishment of local kindergartens and village health centre.

The resort also hosts crab races with money collected from the event used to fund local projects.
