Update: 7:18PM DAY TWO of the first parliament session of 2018 begins with the confirmation of minutes for the proceedings of Monday March 5.

After communications from the chair, a presentation of papers as well as reports of parliamentary committees will take place.

Members of Parliament will then present the following questions:

11/2018 Hon. Parmod Chand to ask the Minister for Fisheries � Would the Minister inform Parliament why fishermen applying for fishing licences are being asked to agree to pay access fees for qoliqoli on an undetermined figure that will be finalised later by the Permanent Secretary for Fisheries and whether such qoliqoli is going directly to the resource owners.

12/2018 Hon. Mosese Bulitavu to ask the Attorney-General and Minister for Economy, Public Enterprises, Civil Service and Communications � Can the Attorney-General inform the House why the Government has not established a Mercy Commission since the inception of the 2013 Constitution.

13/2018 Hon. Dr Brij Lal to ask the Minister for Industry, Trade, Tourism, Lands and Mineral Resources � The Ministry is currently working in collaboration with the World Bank Group/International Finance Corporation to review Fiji�s Investment Policy and Act � Can the Minister inform this House the reason for this review.

14/2018 Hon. Netani Rika to ask the Minister for Health and Medical Services � In line with the changes in climate patterns, can the Minister inform the House as to the challenges faced by the Ministry in Food and Nutrition security.

15/2018 Hon. Prem Singh to ask the Acting Minister for Local Government, Housing and Environment, Infrastructure and Transport � Would the Minister inform Parliament of the total output of electricity of all generators purchased by Fiji Electricity Authority to date, why are the generators unable to meet the electricity demand during power blackouts.

16/2018 Hon. Jiosefa Dulakiverata to ask the Minister for Industry, Trade, Tourism, Lands and Mineral Resources � Can the Minister inform the House on the status of the Lakena Land Subdivision in Nausori.

17/2018 Hon. Semesa Karavaki to ask the Attorney-General and Minister for Economy, Public Enterprises, Civil Service and Communications � Can the Minister provide the House with the definition of �Crown Grant� and �State Land� under the existing laws and how can it be reverted to its original owners.

18/2018 Hon. Ro Teimumu Kepa to ask the Acting Minister for Local Government, Housing and Environment, Infrastructure and Transport � Would the Minister briefly explain how the Fiji Roads Authority can ensure there is a high standard of workmanship maintained following the construction or maintenance works on roads, particularly in terms of changing weather patterns.

19/2018 Hon. Ashneel Sudhakar to ask the Acting Minister for Local Government, Housing, Environment, Infrastructure and Transport � Can the Minister provide an update on the Duguvatu Rural Electrification Project.

20/2018 Hon. Howard Politini to ask the Minister for Waterways � Can the Minister inform the House about the progress on the 1.3 million dollars grant for maintenance of drainage works by Municipal Councils.

21/2018 Hon. Dr Brij Lal to ask the Acting Minister for Local Government, Housing and Environment, Infrastructure and Transport � Can the Minister update the House on the Somosomo Hydro Power Station in Taveuni.

22/2018 Hon. Samuela Vunivalu to ask the Attorney-General and Minister for Economy, Public Enterprises, Civil Service and Communications � Can the Minister explain the increase in the price of butter.

23/2018 Hon. Parmod Chand to ask the Prime Minister and Minister for iTaukei Affairs, Sugar Industry and Foreign Affairs � Would the Prime Minister inform Parliament of how many foreign nationals by country of origin have obtained Fiji passports or have become Fiji nationals since October 2014.

Mosese Bulitavu to ask the Minister for Defence and National Security � Can the Minister inform this House how many places of worship were attacked since the last sitting of this House in September 2017 and what is the status of the investigation in respect of each of those reported attacks.
